Babymoon

Thanksgiving was great this year. P got thursday and friday off and my siblings who live close by had other plans for thursday (in-laws) so my mom decided to do thanksgiving dinner on wednesday night. It worked out great and the food was amazing! THanks MOM!

P and I decided to take a little trip...but not too far cause baby is 2 weeks away from his big debut. So on thursday morning we drove up to Ventura/Santa Barbara for a camping/slash surfing trip. Unfortunately there were NO waves but the weather was absolutely perfect and it was SO fun to have some alone time with my amazing husband before our new little family and life change.
As most of you might know already Pehrson's Dad was in the Air Force so growing up he moved around a lot! He never really stayed in one place for very long. He has memories all over but Ventura is where his mom's parents lived for years and it was a place that never moved. He has so many memories here and it was so fun to see a little bit more of Pehrson's childhood. I would love to someday see ALL the places he lived. Here is a picture of his grandparents old house...apparently it looks way different than it used to...but it was still fun to see. And the big dogs that used to scare P when he was little still lived next door.
Then we drove around the corner to this beautiful lake called...Lake Casitas. Had a picnic and took a nap.
After the lake we went back to the beach and he took out the soft top for some little waves at C-street before the sun set.
The sunset was breathtaking and the weather was perfect.
On thursday night we decided we would see what the big craze about black friday was all about. We both have never really experienced the madness of this shopping day. So we went to the Camarillo outlet stores around 11 am. And there were SO many people there already. They didn't open until 12 am but people were waiting. There were lines and lines outside of the stores and throughout the night the lines kept getting longer. It was crazy! There were definitely some good deals but i still just couldn't believe how many people were there to shop. We got back to our camp spot and fell asleep around 3. I surprisingly slept pretty good for being in our car on a twin mattress at 9 months pregnant. ha. We got up the next morning to another beautiful sunny day. We went down to the Santa Barbara board walk, took a shower on the beach (the water was freezing) then rented a surrey and a tandem bike for a couple hours.

We stopped off at this bird refuge pond and enjoyed the scenery.
We rode a tandem bike all around downtown Santa Barbara and looked at all the cute little shops. I loved it! It was such a cute town. And lets just say I got some pretty funny looks from people being so pregnant riding bikes all over town. One lady said to her daughter right in front of me, "I can't believe she is riding a bike pregnant" then proceeds to walk past and give me the stare. It was pretty classic. And maybe it was stupid of me, but I felt safe and the baby LOVED it...He told me!
It was sad to see the weekend end. But it was wonderful and I am so thankful for so many things in my life. Laughter being one of them. Pehrson always knows how to make me laugh and I really believe it soothes the soul. Thanks for such a wonderful weekend best friend!

Now the count down really begins...

Shower time...

I know the most amazing people and feel blessed everyday that they are in my life. I had some beautiful and fun showers for our little babe! We are all so excited to meet him and especially see him in all of his cute new clothes! He is gonna be stylin. It started off in South Pasadena with these amazing girls! (and Ashley....not pictured) They should be professional party planners cause everything they did was perfect and SO creative. I loved it girls thank you thank you!
The food was amazing...
They had a carmel apple station where you made a carmel apple and put all the toppings on it and then brought it home as your goodie bag. It was so good and perfect for this time of year. (Also, a big thanks to sweet sweet Janice Crabb who hosted the party at her house, she is so great!)
My wonderful mom and beautiful sisters all made it to this shower which was SO fun to have them all here. I love them all so much and so glad they are my best friends!
And it wouldn't have been a party if these lovely ladies didn't show up. Thanks again girls for everything...you guys are the best!
Then this awesome couple, who has watched me grow up my whole life, hosted a shower for me at their house in Mission Viejo.
We got our stroller! Woohoo!
Again...my wonderful family was able to be there.
Some of the ladies who made this possible.
And I also got to meet up with some of my favs from high school. It was so fun to catch up with them and talk about babies. Love them all and so glad we could get together. Thanks Melanie for making this happen!
Since its that time of year to show your gratitude...THANK YOU! Friends make the world a better place. I feel so lucky to have you in my life and to share my excitement of being a mom with you.

Now baby get on out so we can watch you grow!

A new Halloween tradition!

Well...halloween this year was one for the record books! First it started on wednesday when I got to go to the Halloween Ellen Show. A bunch of girls from south pasadena went and we all had a blast. I didn't really know what to dress up as...so naturally i choose to be a whoopie cushion! it was pretty last minute and homemade. But it was fun. And i felt like i couldn't make a normal face in any picture because...well i was dressed up as a fart. ha My friend Jaime dressed up as Russel from UP and won 2nd place for best costume and Lindsay, the tampax box, won 1st place. It was a fun day!
Then on friday night we had our ward trunk or treat. It was fun passing out all the candy to the little kids and we realized that next year we will have a 10 month old kiddo running around (well at least crawling) crazy...but can't wait!

On Saturday Pehrson entered a Halloween Surf Competition and we had SO much fun! We weren't expecting it to be as awesome as it was. There were a ton of people that came, probably about 40 people who competed in costume.
Pehrson dressed up as George W. Bush and our brother-in-law Jason dressed up as Richard Nixon (like from the movie point break) It was pretty awesome.
There were a couple other friends from dental school that came. David dressed as white trash and Bridger dressed up as Russel from UP.
They split them into about 8 or 10 people per heat and they got 20 minutes to surf. Here is Pehrson's first wave and by far the best picture of the day! ha He decided to make the podium last minute. And sure glad he did...because this picture is priceless!
I don't know how you can surf with a mask on, a suit and a wetsuit. P said he couldn't see a thing and was suffocating in that mask especially when it would fill up with water. HA but he looked goood!
Even though this mask of Bush has a smiling...I'm pretty sure Pehrson was smiling pretty big underneath that mask.
There was an expression session after the main heats and they had to randomly pick a number and surf whatever board they were given. Again, another fun heat for the boys. They gave out some prizes and awards and fed us Chipotle for lunch. It was way fun! The weather was absolutely perfect! And this will probably be a new tradition for Halloween. I want to do it next year.

We finished off the night chaperoning and dancing at the youth halloween dance. We were worn out and slept like rocks on saturday night. It was a blast and now that this holiday is over just one more to get through and then...BABY time!!!
