our little fam

After church yesterday we went outside and enjoyed the sun. My "love language" is time and I love spending time with these ones.
I love SUNdays.

p.s. Okay Ladies (and gentlemen) Beck has a red mullet! It's the last of his original hair, the rest is growing in lighter but I want to shave it even though Pehrson thinks its cool. What would you do?

To cut or not to cut?
HA it is pretty funny!

5 Months

Aw man this little cutie is 5 months old now. WHAT!?! I think this month he has changed the most so far. He is becoming a little man overnight and it is blowing my mind.
  • As mentioned before...my baby has teeth...TWO teeth on the bottom and guess what...he has learned how to use them! He has bitten me 4 times while feeding, one time bringing me to tears...Moms out there any advice???? I think I might have to call it quits soon. Unless i find a solution, formula is too expensive.
  • He rolls over from back to stomach almost immediately.
  • Had rice cereal for the first time yesterday and seemed to like it. But today he wasn't so sure.
  • Puts everything he can reach in his mouth.
  • Belly laughs a lot! Especially with daddy!
  • Is extremely ticklish.
  • Had his first ear infection. Spent mothers day in the doctors office getting antibiotics.
  • Gave me a reason to celebrate mothers day.
  • Meet mommys college roommates babies.
  • Takes good naps
  • LOVES more than anything bath time and being outside. If he is fussy you just open the door and he is a happy boy again.
  • Had his first babysitter! P and I went on a date and left little B with one of pehrson's friends from school who was asking to babysit. It was a little hard on me. But he did great! she said he didn't cry once. (made mama proud)
  • Has mastered the art of sitting up.
  • Went on a little rode trip and stayed in his first hotel.
  • Had to hang out with just mommy for a week while daddy was in Belize.
  • Made us smile every single day!
And for those of you who know what i mean when i say "Hawkley Abs" well here is Beck working on his, getting ready for swimsuit season. =]

what was i thinking...

so I got this picture from my grandparents the other day and it made me laugh. I remember thinking I looked SO cool with my sunflower hat...sunflower shirt...sunflower earrings...and i know i had sunflower shoes but i guess im not wearing them this day. What was I thinking...
I also saw this picture the other day. Me and some of my friends dressed up as barbies in 6th grade. And I love that I wore a blonde wig on my head of blonde hair...what was I thinking?
And i think we all went through this faze but "Spice Girls" how cool were they? I even had a spice girl birthday party...pretty awesome. And I was designated as scary spice because I had army pants...ha...what was I thinking? hahaha girl power!
And one time in college I decided that I wanted to do something different. I have always had my same straight blonde hair, i had never done anything to it before (except i did have 9 perms). But something came over me and I asked a roommate to dye it brown. 1st mistake...we bought the box dye and did it ourselves. I got a brown color and then like 3 days later my hair looked almost green. So I went darker, a shade before black...but my hair was naturally so blonde that it never really stayed. I didn't tell my mom for a couple days and just sent her a picture via email. She thought it was a joke. I wish it was. It was funny because i would get the weirdest looks on campus, i would come up to a group of my friends and start talking to them and they wouldn't really recognize me. One time I was in the library and I heard two girls talking about me and I was right next to them...luckily it was something nice. HA but seriously what was i thinking?
i love this last one of me and annie trying to be supermodels...haha Anyways there are so many times i look back and think wow, what was i thinking. I know at the moment it was probably really cool. But now its just funny and im sure there will be many more moments like this in the future.

SLOW DOWN...

Beck is getting big TOO FAST!!

Moms out there does time ever slow down? Two weeks ago Beck was being super cranky and i couldn't figure out what was going on. Teething didn't even cross my mind because I thought there is no way, he is too little. But the next morning his bottom tooth broke through and then the next day the second bottom one came. Poor guy I didn't numb him up or anything he just stuck through it and was biting on EVERYTHING! I should have taken that as a hint but I'm still learning everyday too.
This picture was really hard to get because he kept wanting to bite my finger. Luckily he hasn't bitten me while feeding yet. But I am getting nervous for that. He is only 4 1/2 months...I want to breastfeed for a while longer but once he figures out what he can do with those teeth I might be cutting it short. ha He is also sitting up like a champ! He LOVES being up and looking around. He does not like to be lying on his back. The world is just so much better when he is up. He is also loving his books. He opens and closes the back page over and over until he realizes he can put it in his mouth. Then he just eats the book
Last night he rolled from his back to his stomach...3 times in a row and when I got him out of bed this morning he was on his belly. He found his feet a couple weeks ago and is so kind to hold them whenever i change his diaper. He puts them straight into his mouth, I wish i was that flexible. Honestly this kid needs to slow down! He is just too much fun and its amazing how much they learn everyday.

On a sad note...Beck doesn't like to sleep in my arms anymore (unless he is really really tired) but at night i used to feed and rock him in my arms until he was asleep and then I would lay him down. But now after he eats he arches his back until I put him down and then he falls asleep. I went up to Pehrson one night (ALMOST in tears) and said this is so sad my baby doesn't want to cuddle with me anymore. He kept reassuring me that this is a good thing. But I don't know how i feel about it. Am i gonna be one of those embarrassing moms? Probably. But he can't know that already. He is too little. Luckily he still likes me to hold him, but when he is tired all he wants is his crib and blankie.

It really is so fun to see his personality shine. He is all smiles. And loves checking things out. If we walk outside he will just stare at everything. Inside to...fans are the coolest!! He has had a pretty bad cough the last couple of days so we have been laying low but those smiles are still coming through. It is sounding better, so hopefully he will be 100% again soon.

It's amazing how much a baby can change your life for the better. I fall in love with this kid more and more everyday and I still can't believe that he is mine...it just feels like i'm babysitting for a really long time. HA With it being mothers day weekend and this being my first mothers day...I am just so happy that I get to spend it with this little boy forever!
Thanks for making me a Mother! It's the greatest thing in the world.

Lots of pictures...

When Pehrson got back from his trip we decided to go on a little two day get away. We drove up to Morro Bay and San Luis Obispo. It was absolutely beautiful. And it almost felt like we were in another state or country. SO much green every where and open space.
Our first stop was a hike called Bishops Peak. It was just gorgeous. The pictures don't do it justice.
Beck was ready to get down.
We found a nice little hotel in Morro Bay for the night.
And the next day we explored this town. We went to the beach, Pehrson surfed but it was WAY too cold. He went out caught one wave and then came back in. Beck and I just stayed in the car and watched. =]
This cowboy asked Pehrson if he was gonna go knee boarding...HA
After that we headed up to Hearst Castle. It's a huge castle on top of the hill overlooking the pacific coast. Here is the main part of the castle
and here is the view from Hearst's front yard. WOW!
he had two pools one inside and one out.
There were antiques and statues that he collected from all over the world. This guy was loaded.
It's a california national park now. So you have to go on a guided tour. It was really cool but probably just a one time thing for us. And it didn't hurt that it was an absolutely gorgeous day! After the castle we went to an elepahant sea lion beach i had no idea there would be this many...
Then we went to pismo beach. I had never been there and it was such a cute little beach town. P and i loved it there. We ate at a cute little cafe and then checked out the beach. And yep you guessed it...P had to go in. Again...it was way too cold for my fancy. Almost everyone out there was wearing hoods and booties. But it was beautiful
and i was able to watch pehrson from the pier while beck and I talked about life.
and enjoyed the sunset
There are so many fun things to do in california, we have barely even scraped the surface. I love these little getaways, exploring a new city with my boys.

im 25!

I am one year older and wiser too! Pehrson was on an Ayuda trip in Belize for the first week of his break which conveniently landed on my birthday again. (it will be like this for two more years :-[ But he still pulled through! Even though it wasn't as extravagant as last year there was still some thought put into it.

For those of you who know me really well know that I am not the biggest fan of feet (especially if they are touching me) but contrary to what Pehrson says I'm definitely getting better! So this years theme was feet. He gave this picture to me the day he left.
He told me to go get a pedicure and buy some nail polish. I bought a pair of shoes instead of the nail polish...but I stayed with the theme.
I asked for the same thing I asked for on my 10th birthday...ROLLERBLADES! These are seriously so much fun. B and I have gone on a couple adventures now and we just love them.
He also got me a soccer ball because we realized the other day that we didn't own a soccer ball and that just can't happen in this household with two soccer loving people.

I helped with pre-prom that night and then went out with some of my girls in south pas for some frozen yogurt (another one of my favorite things!) So all in all it was a great birthday. A big thanks to my friends and family who remembered me on my day! I love you all!
