Girls Weekend

Got to spend a fun weekend in Newport with these lovely ladies.

We ate. Talked. Danced. Ran. Stayed in a beautiful house. Played in the ocean. And had some beautiful weather.

All thanks to this girl! We love you Lindsay...thank you times a million.

The happiest place on earth

The day after Beck was blessed some of the people in my family decided to go to Disneyland. It really is a magical place and we did a lot of things that i've never done before (the more mellow rides for the kiddos) We went on it's a small world twice because the kids faces were absolutely priceless looking at all the little people and rode the train that went around the park, went to the tiki room...I would have to say that toy story is a new favorite and I love what they have done to space mountain, faster and darker. Also, it has been a couple years but did they change up Pirates? I swear it was different this time around. Here is the stroller gang.

It was a great day and the first of many trips to D-land with kids. It will be more fun once Beck gets a little older and can see things better.

But there was still lots of smiling going on so ill say it was a success.

2 Months

Here he is 2 months old:

Weight: 12 lbs 15.6 oz.-75%

Height: 24 1/2 in.-90%

He is a tall boy. He got his first shots today, I think mom was sadder than baby. But he is doing great and very healthy. The doctor can't believe that he is only 2 months, he is very aware and alert. This month he started smiling and it is the coolest thing EVER! I still just stare at him every day.

Some highlights of this month:

-knows how to carry on a conversation and will coo back and forth

-was blessed into the church of Jesus Christ of LDS

-had one night away from mommy...had a sleepover with just daddy and did great

-at least 2 times a week he will sleep through the night (if not more)

-maybe giggled?

-been to San Diego twice-one time staying with Aunt Lupe and the other with Natalie Vilos and her roommates.

-has been to 2 weddings (and was very good at being passed around)

-went to Disneyland for the first time with his cousins

-still going on lots of runs with mommy

-loves to be standing and moving around

-is getting really good at going to church meetings

-loves being outside

-is following things with his eyes much better and realizing when i come into a room or leave

-but best of all he is a SMILING machine!!!

We just can't get enough of this little red head.

Blessing Day

On Feb. 6th our little guy was blessed. He wore the same outfit that Pehrson wore when he was blessed as well as Pehrson's Dad when he was blessed. Isn't that so cool. Maybe someday Beck will bless his first son in this outfit too. Who knows?

Unfortunately the microphone didn't work so I didn't hear a word but I know that Pehrson did a great job. So grateful for the Priesthood and also so grateful for some sweet members in my ward who were sitting up close and wrote down some things that he said.

Sister Dalton weekend

About 2 weeks ago we were privileged to have a conference with Sister Dalton. (the General YW's President) What an amazing women she is! WOW if only I could speak like her. She is just surrounded by the spirit and you can feel it. On friday afternoon she and a bunch of young women got together and "Ran with Virtue" around the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. It was fun. All the girls were very excited to see her, as were the leaders. Here are some pictures of the event. (thank you Lindsay)

And then on Saturday we went to hear her speak, along with a lady named Diana, who was absolutely hilarious and spiritual. Then there was a special surprise...David Archuleta. He sang some simply primary and hymn songs that we've heard for years but never that good. He is a super talented singer. Funny story, I was feeding Beck on the couch away from everyone on the opposite side of the building (i couldn't find the mothers room) and then all of the sudden David is ushered in. I totally shake his hand while i'm breastfeeding. Haha he and i were both a little awkward. But he was super nice and very short. When he walked in to speak all the 12-18yr old girls screamed. It was awesome. Here is a picture of us meeting her. My mom came up as did my sister-in-law and mother-in-law. They loved it. Don't you think my mom and Sister D look like they could be related?

And Beck did great through the whole thing! He is so awesome!

Something that Sister Dalton said that i liked...(well there were lots) but this one in particular. "Decisions Determine Destiny" I feel like every little decision we make in life leads us somewhere. And even though I've reached some of my goals so far (like being married in the temple) I still need to work at it and make those right choices to be an example to my kids, so they will know how to make the right decisions and hopefully reach their own goals in life. I'm so glad i am a member of this church. It is such a blessing in my life.

Who does he look like?

This little guy changes everyday and to be honest some days I think he looks just like Pehrson and then the next day he looks like me. It is so fun to watch and see him change by the minute. He is already getting so big and eating so well.

Valentines Day!!

I Love Pehrson Allen Hawkley

This is the 3rd year i've had a Valentine. And he is a pretty darn good one. I love you Pehrson thanks for all you do and especially for being such a good husband and father. Will you be my Valentine F.O.R.E.V.E.R?

I Love this kid

Seriously that face! I think I look at this picture like 10 times a day. I still can't believe that he is mine. It's amazing how much you can love someone. His smile melts my heart. I just can't get enough. Love you so much Mr. Beck!

Feb. 12th

I Love riding bikes

At sunset. By the beach. To the grocery store. To church. To class. Around the neighborhood. I love riding downhill. Feeling the wind in my hair. On a beach cruiser. All of this puts a smile on my face. I can't wait to take Beck on a Hawkley bike ride.

I Love my Sisters

I have been realizing this more and more everyday. Of course we have always been friends but lately I've realized how close of friends and how much we have in common. All my life people have gotten us confused as to who is who and i remember being annoyed because I just wanted people to know that I was Kate. But, now I take it as a compliment. I think my sisters are so beautiful and so talented. I get excited to see them when we get together and am so happy they married such awesome guys. And i'm so glad that my brother found Kylee. She is perfect. So easy to get along with and fun to be around. She made our family complete.

Feb. 10th

I Love the number 10

For 15 years of my life i played soccer (pretty much year round) and I was always number 10. I remember one year i was 9 and it was the worst team i'd ever been on. I remember losing a lot! The number 10 was like a good luck charm. I felt like a better, stronger player. In high school, freshmen year, we would make cheers for each other with our number and mine was..."one zero you're my hero" Anyways, i think numbers are fun. Especially number 10.

I Love Hawaii

I can't think about love without thinking of hawaii. Because that's where I found it. In 2006 was when we first meet but it wasn't until 2008 when we realized it was love. The sand, water and palm trees were just an added bonus. We miss this place daily.

They know the good and the bad and they still love you for it! I seriously have the best family in the world. I'm so happy that families are forever!

I Love Sundays

It's the best day of the week. I get to go to church and spend my day with my two boys. I love the gospel and love the spirit of sunday. I honestly am so grateful for the gospel in my life and feel so blessed every day to have that knowledge. The Church is True.

Feb. 5th

I Love Yogurt

As most of you know I am a golden spoon girl. I love frozen yogurt. It always sounds good! Especially on a hot summer day...but even on a cold day it sounds good. There have been lots of other yogurt stores popping up and some good competition. But deep down i will ALWAYS stay true to my spoon.

Feb. 4th

I Love my parents

Seriously...i have some good lookin parents. And they are as cool as they look too! They just celebrated their 30th anniversary. And they spent that day in the hospital with their new grandson (Beck) now that is Love! They both have taught me so many things in life and i feel so lucky to have them. Thanks for EVERYTHING you two! I hope i'm half as good a parent as you.

I Love good weather

I got spoiled. Growing up in California I never had to worry about weather. Maybe Rain. But never snow. We pretty much had perfect, sunny, 70 degree weather year round. It wasn't until I moved to Idaho and experienced my first winter (and had to learn to drive in the snow) I realized how much happier I am when the sun is out. Apparently we are having a cold spell all over the US right now. But in sunny southern california we are enjoying the sun and beach and the outdoors.

ps. I do like snow. But only where it should be...on the mountains.

Since February is national love month i thought i'd express some love this month. Cause I have SO much to give!

Feb. 1st

I love to Run. I am not the fastest. I am not in shape (especially right now). I don't look cute running. I'm not the girl who has the perfect outfit who wears jewelry and doesn't sweat. I usually am greasy to start with and become bright red and breath really hard. BUT I love that I can run. I never realized how much i missed it when i was pregnant.

And it feels SO good when I finish...here's to running!
