It was seriously so beautiful. Glad we decided to go and spend our night under the stars and days under the sun. We will definitely be going back there.

beach bums

We have had so much fun these last two weeks. P starts school on monday and i'm so bummed because we've been spoiled with so much time together i don't want it to be over.

USC give the students three breaks every year for 2 or 3 weeks. In April, August and December. I asked Pehrson what he wanted to do this break and he said...BEACH...100 hours of BEACH! All day everyday. So thats what we did.

We went all over southern california. Sometimes hitting up 3 different beaches in one day. We had friends and family join us here and there.

It was a dream.

We surfed. A LOT! and even Beck got out on a board. He was a natural.

We paddle boarded (so FUN and relaxing. try it)

I think there was a point were we didn't wear shoes for a couple days. HEAVEN.

We camped on the sand.

Our car looks like a sand box.

We ate lots of good food. (Diet starts monday) ha

We smelt like sunscreen everyday.

Our muscles are sore.

It really couldn't have been better.

Unfortunately we didn't make our 100 hour goal. But we came REALLY close.

Maybe next august break we can try it again.

Sad for this little journey to be over. But we need to get back to real life and responsibilities. It was a treat and I wouldn't have wanted it any other way.

8 months

Look at this cute little guy. 8 months of pure joy!
  • Crawling all over the place and is actually pretty fast.
  • Finds EVERYTHING on the floor and puts straight into his mouth...EVERYTHING!
  • Has 8 teeth. Four on top and four on bottom.
  • Gives us a cheesy smile daily. I think he knows we like it.
  • When i put him in front of the mirror he opens his mouth really big (like a surprise look) because thats what i always do when i bring him in front of the mirror.
  • This hasn't been repeated but the other day i was in the kitchen and i saw his little feet dangling from his high chair. He was holding himself up, like a pull-up. WHAT? It was crazy. HA
  • Climbs up on everything. And is mastering his stair skills.
  • Is eating more food and always seems to be hungry. But he especially wants whats on our plates. So we give him tastes here and there.
  • Loves to walk. (my back does not love it)
  • Has figured out sand. He will usually try a little right when we get to the beach but then quickly remembers that he doesn't like eating it. Instead he just wants to eat the seaweed and rocks and shells. Toys aren't really cool yet.
  • Talks ALL day long. I would like to say that "mama" was his first word. But Pehrson would beg to differ. I hear "mamamamama" and "bababbaba" and "dadadadada" constantly.
  • Started pounding things and slapping the ground.
  • Still takes about 3 naps. 2 longer ones and a third one for like 20 minutes. When and how do I switch it? I just put him down when he seems ready. Any suggestions? Is this normal?
  • Still LOVES being outside.
  • He is like a real baby now. And we are having a blast! I can never let him out of my sight and I clean up his mess about 20 times a day. But i wouldn't change it for a second.
We love you little B.

8-11-11

I thought this day would never come. But it did! and the Hawkley family is happy again. Because
1. we don't have to look at these anymore
2. we will have our husband/daddy back
Pehrson took his part 1 boards yesterday. It was an 8 hour test about pretty much every single thing in your body and how it works. I would try and help quiz him but I couldn't even pronounce half of the words (and im a science major) this stuff went deep. I am so proud of Pehrson and his dedication. I know he will be blessed for working hard. Now we just have to wait 2-3 weeks to get the score. Then the party will really begin...hopefully!

the first annual LeSueur reunion

we went to san diego and stayed in some cute condos in la jolla. Since there are 5 kids under the age of 3 we decided to go have fun at Legoland and Seaworld. I had never been to legoland and it is the perfect little kid park. (10 and older probably wouldn't like) But mostly it was just fun to be with my awesome family. We have so much fun together and all get along so well. What a blessing that is. And Pehrson got to join in on the fun for a little. one more week till he takes his boards. We are so ready for it to be over.

Thanks parentals for the fun trip. Can't wait till next year.

on a side note. And for memories sake. Beck had so much fun watching his cousins laugh and run up and down the stairs. And he wanted in so bad. (i was out running some errands, so i didn't see it) but he climbed all the way up the stairs on his own! The next day i wanted to see and he made it about half way and then stopped. We haven't tried any stairs since then. But it was pretty exciting if you ask me. which also can't leave this kid for a second. He is into everything.

food

Feeding this kid is fun, crazy, messy and gets all over the place.
i'm relieved when it's over...but love every second of it.
