I was so mormon this weekend. And had a blast! After many months of planning and organizing this weekend came whether we were ready or not. It was Youth Conference for our stake and everything worked out great. (For those that don't know, YC is a church gathering for a couple days with youth ages 14-18) We went rollerskating, had a bonfire, listentened to some great speakers, did a service project, played some games, had a dance, ate some great food and of course ended it with a spiritual testimony meeting. It was so fun to be a part of this. It brought back memories of when I used to go to YC and all the excitement that came with it. I never realized how much work gets put into this till now. I guess when I was younger I just thought everything magically happened. But NO, someone had to plan every single part of the event. So "thank you" to my leaders who helped plan these activities for me.
This weekend taught me a lot about how much the Saviour loves and knows his children. It was supposed to be raining (and it did a little) but we were "camping" in cabins and the rain never really came. It was misty but it wasn't pouring and we were able to get all the things done we needed to. Also, some of the activities and events that we were worried about worked out perfectly. Just like they always do when the Lord is on your side.
Growing up in California you are surrounded by a lot of different people and with activities like this you realize that there are people that are just like you and are going through the same things you are. Girls Camp, Youth Conference, Super Activity (not sure if people do this anymore), Roadshow...these were the activities that strengthened my testimony the most. Seeing friends make the right choices and seeing their lives change because of the gospel, there is no better feeling. I feel so lucky to have grown up in a place where I did and had the friends that I had.
Then last night I was able to attend the Young Womens broadcast. Although, I was tired from the weekend and the just wanted to sleep the afternoon away I got back into my dress and headed down to the church. And I am sure glad I did. The speakers were wonderful and even though it was focused on the young women, I got some much out of it.
There was a story that one of the speakers told that I've heard before but had forgotten about. It goes..."There was a father who wanted to go steal some corn from his neighbor and brought his son with him to be on the lookout. His son sat on the fence and the dad looked left, right, in front and behind him. He didn't see anything or anyone and started to pick the corn, when his son yelled out "Dad wait!"....You forgot to look up!"
The Lord is always watching us and knows what we are doing and who we are serving and wants us to succeed. He loves us all equally. He wants us to love everyone else equally. I'm so grateful for the things that He has blessed me with and am so happy to have the gospel in my life. I know that it is the best thing for me.
THIS CHURCH IS SO TRUE!
I love the way it makes me feel. I know that My Heavenly Father loves me and watches out for me and all of his children. What a blessing it is to be a wife and mother. To love one of His children with every ounce of love I can give.

And it just doesn't feel right to not put a picture of Beck on here. So here he is in the jumper. He doesn't jump yet, just naws on the edge...baby steps. (literally)
