HaPpY bIRthDay to...ME!

Okay...so this post took much longer than it should've BUT i had an awesome birthday with the familia and i want to show you how my day went. First, Pehrson brought me breakfast in bed, then he had to go to work and i was told that i can go on a shopping spree and so I did and found some great things! then i picked my hubby up from work and we went on a bike ride along the san clemente trail! beautiful. then my family took me out to dinner to this great thai restaurant...yum!
for the 2 weeks before my birthday Pehrson had this big secret he couldn't tell me about and he was LOVING the fact that i didn't know and was trying SO hard to figure it out! This is an example of what i had to look at...

I could have easily gone in and ruined the surprise...but i was obedient and followed orders. Anyways after dinner we came home and did presents...and FINALLY i was gonna be able to see what in the world this kid has been up to. He gave me a card that said "look in the living room" i run over there and this is what i see...

then this happens...

then this happens...

He got me a longboard and personalized it just for me!! i LOVE IT...its PERFECT!!! Jon helped too..thanks Jon!
and whats a birthday without a birthday cake? Pehrson created a cake and it was delicious!

Then naturally we had to take some more pics of the board...we LeSueur's/Hawkley's/Facer's LOVE pictures!
giving MY board its first wax job...this was a big moment

I also got a new wetsuit (thanks mom!) and have been out a couple times and two words "its perfect" thanks Pehrson, Jon, Jill and the rest of my family and friends who called or remembered my on my big day. 23 is gonna be a good year, i can feel it! and what a great way to start it off!
Pehrson, thanks for being such an awesome husband and making me feel so special on my birthday! I love you SO much and im excited that we get to surf together forever!! =]

April 24th

One year today i was getting on a plane to go to hawaii with the intentions of just being there for the summer. When i got off the plane i saw Pehrson Hawkley there picking up his friends who were on the same flight as me. We embraced and said to each other..."hey, we should hang out!" and "HANG OUT" we did! its crazy how fast time goes by. 22 was a good year for me! Can't wait to see what 23 has in store. Im just so lucky that i get to see this face everyday and FOREVER!!
SO glad i decided to go back to hawaii...i would have missed out on this! the LOVE of my Life! (i'll update later on my birthday...it was a GOOD one!) pictures to come =]

we miss hawaii...but we have been busy and having lots of fun at home! here's a little about what we've been up to.
1) the LeSueur household got a new mac computer...its awesome
2)Pehr and i are living in the room that i used to live in during high school. ha =]
3)jill had a baby shower, one of the games we had to drink milk out of a bottle...i won
4)we got to go to Mike and Jessica's wedding...i got to see some old idaho friends. My dad got to reunite with one of his old college roomies (mike's dad). I didn't bring my camera (so unlike me) so my mom luckily got one shot of us. So good to see these guys. congrats mike and jess, marriage is seriously the BEST!

5) we got to go to the newport temple...so beautiful!
6)we had a REALLY good easter dinner and we dyed eggs with silk ties. really cool and different, you guys should try it sometime. Get an old silk tie, cut it, wrap around uncooked egg, then wrap white clothe around it, then boil for 20 minutes. the print of the tie will be on your egg. pretty awesome!
7)Pehrson was a little sick yesterday so he slept ALL day...poor guy!
8) annie came back from AZ and we got to hang out with her for like a second, cause she left again for idaho today. that girl is such a little traveler
9) my mom has to feed like 450 kids this weekend for youth conference..CRAZY! but fun, we are gonna do our best to help.
10) jill and her amazing photography skills wanted to try some new spots. so we had a sister photo shoot...it was really fun, here are a couple. You can tell we're sisters!
11)little Dane facer is moving and pushing so much right now...he is growing and ready to see the world. i got to feel him a couple times push up against jills belly. We are SO excited to see you Dane!!
12)Pehrson and i have been able to hang out SO much this week, we are loving it! no finals or work to get in the way. I start next week and Pehr...soon!
13)saw this picture and just fell in love with it! My sister is so beautiful and has the cutest little boy ever! we love you Lukey! can't wait to see you soon =]

14)we have been eating like kings and queens...its been great
15)i got to do my favorite run around mission viejo lake and it was beautiful
16)went to my mom's class and talked to a bunch of ladies there about jobs, careers...etc. i have been trying to figure out my life forever and i still just don't know what i want to do. =[
17)gonna go see some old roomies to night...cant wait!
18)we watched our first episode of american idol this season the other night...not so sure i like any of them...no one stood out to me. Maybe it was just a bad night, but i'm already over it!
19)went to san clemente skate park and looks like a lot of fun...IF there weren't a million people there. im still learning and its kind of embarrassing when a 5 year old can drop in and do all these tricks without falling, SO...we will have to do a morning sesh when its just me and pehrson. =]
20)i really do love california! its good to be home...oh yeah we had some golden spoon too! what a treat!

our last week

Well, its true! Being married in hawaii is the BEST!! We are so sad to leave this place at the end of the week. My last day of work is tomorrow, it has been an awesome job! I've learned a lot about patience, Heno is autistic, has downs syndrome and ocd. You may think...WOW! but he is pretty mellow and is very easy to be with. Some days are harder than others, but overall he has been awesome and i really think that i might miss being around him. You can definitely feel the spirit when you are with him because he is so special, he is always pushing in chairs, opening the doors, and picking up trash through out the day. He cleans the dishes at the school cafeteria and always has the biggest smile on his face while cleaning. And he loves to laugh and get your attention by doing something funny. There are so many things that Heno will never get to experience but at the same time some many things he doesn't have to worry about. Sometimes when i am with him i wonder how he got this way and what he did before he came to earth? I think that hadicap people are on this earth to help teach other people! whether it be their parents or siblings or neighbors, they touch a lot more people than they know. I love that!

Pehrson and I are moving to my parents house for a couple months for the summer until we find a place to stay in LA. He starts school in august and we are pretty excited to start this next chapter in our life. I think its going to be fun moving to a place where we don't really know anyone. I love meeting new people and this time Pehrson and i will get to find our new friends together. But...we are definitely going to miss this magical place that brought us together!

things i'm excited for:
*going home and getting to use all of our nice new wedding gifts
*finding a cute little apartment/condo and make it our new home
*life in LA
*to be close to family
*to meet my new little nephew Dane Facer
*to nanny two cute little boys in San Clemente
*having a toilet that flushes everytime you use it
*to make new friends...but keep the old!
*all the weddings we get to go to this summer
*not having to pay rent for a couple months while at the parentals
*i have some sewing projects that im really excited about and i get to use mama's machine
*being in california
*eating some good mexican food

things i will miss:
*riding my bike to work everyday
*living in the little "love burrito" our first home together that will never be forgotten
*walking around campus or going to foodland or going to the beach and seeing people we know
*working on campus and seeing Pehrson between his classes
*running with Natalie Vilos (i'm going to miss that girl)
*ALL of our awesome friends
*the relaxed lifestyle, and no body caring what car you drive or what clothes you wear, just happy people
*surfing the hawaiian waves
*the spirit of good people all around you
*wearing shorts and sandals in the middle of winter
*the great food and restaurants here
*the kahuku skate park
*not having much...but having enough

Hawaii is mine and pehrsons place! We meet here 3 years ago, who knew at that time that i would move back here and start dating him. But, i moved back a year ago and look at us now! Pretty much our entire relationship has been in hawaii and i am SO grateful for that! We will always have a special love for this place and will definitely be making some trips back here throughout our lives. Thank you hawaii for being so good to us! Thanks for the good food and the good friends we have made. We love you and will never ever forget you!

the color Red!

i put on a red watch this morning...
And for some reason the color was so vibrant and cool to me today. then i looked around our house and noticed how many red things we have and how much it stood out to me today. While i was riding my bike to work i had my camera in hand and just took pictures along the way, i couldn't believe how much the red colors in the world stood out to me.

RED-when i think of red, i think of a hot 4th of july day eating watermelon and seeing American flags waver in the wind! Or i think of people saying to never buy a red car because cops notice them more. Or i think of the personality color code test and if you get red, i believe it means you like to be in charge, you are demanding, strong willed, controlling, likes things done their way. (i have no red in me). Or i think...sexy! Red roses! Red lipstick! Red heels!

i feel like this is kind of a random post and who really cares right? well, this morning made me think a little bit. How come we don't notice things unless you have interest in it? For example, when pehrson and i were thinking about buying a bike, we just kept looking and looking at other peoples bikes until we found ours. Or like when you are injured or sick, you notice other people who are injured and sick much more than when you are healthy...ah im not making sense. BUT, all im saying is that i wish people (me included) could open their eyes a little more and be mindful of the things around them.

God is such a beautiful artist! Maybe its because i live in paradise and i'm surrounded by beauty. But there is beauty EVERYWHERE! and i want to challenge you to recognize it everyday. I'm so grateful to live in a place where i can fully enjoy God's creations, watching a sunrise or a sunset still amazes me because they are all different and all beautiful in their own way.

I love life!

want to know me better?

well...i was tagged or something a long time ago by my sister to write down 25 random facts about myself. (i think thats what it was) so i decided to let you guys get to know the real Kate Hawkley...
1) I got i a really bad car accident 2 summers ago. I was driving on the freeway after work heading for the spectrum, driving my grandparents oldsmobile minding my own business, when all of the sudden this blue sports car cuts me off. I slammed on my brakes, spun around 3 times, hit an old man behind me, hit a pole and flew off the side of the 5 freeway onto the EL Toro onramp…should have had some serious injuries, but was able to drive away from it without a scratch. MIRACLE
2) i dont like feet...but im getting better
3) Whenever I take roadtrips by myself I sing out loud the whole time so that I stay awake…one time I was driving home from Idaho (14 hours straight) and lost my voice by the time I made it home
4) All of my embarrassing moments have to do with falling, but this one is my favorite. One day in Idaho I was scapping off my car, which is an everyday event in Idaho and it was after class, I was parked in the front row right by the taylor. While I was scrapping I fell and a bunch of people were walking around at that time and I didn’t want them to see me, so for some reason I thought it would be a good idea to just slide under my car and wait for the crowd to pass. But, of course some good mormon boy saw me and came over and said, “um, excuse me, do you need help?” It was really embarrassing, but funny now that I think about it.
5) I loved high school!! Everything about it, sometimes I wish that I could replay certain days.
6) When I was in first grade I remember there was this thing called scholastic books, it was a magazine were you would order books. I always wanted to get stuff from it, by I never really did. But I remember there was this one boy who went to Europe for like a week and he bought a bunch of books and they were sitting in his cubby forever and so I just took them. And never told anyone. When he finally came back he was crying cause he wanted his books, but I never told him…I feel really bad about it now! Oops..
7) I hate people who you know know you but they pretend like they don’t and just walk by you without saying hello.
8) my mom told me that when I was little and we would go to stores I would just sit in the stroller and say hello to anyone and everyone.
9) When im not thinking about anything I count my steps and give myself goals when walking…example “take five steps to the tree…etc”
10) I once dyed my hair dark brown and immediately regretted the decision right when I did it. My hair will never be the same. Nobody recognized me, I even heard some girls talking about me in the library one day and I was sitting right next to them…luckily they were saying something nice
11) Anything outdoors makes me happy. I cant spend too much time inside
12) when im driving and a good song is on the radio and I have already reached my destination. Ill sit in my car and wait until its over.
13) I have only gotten 1 detention, 2 lunch detentions and 1 Saturday school. I got the Saturday school because me and two of my girlfriends ditched school and walked to the Laguna Hills mall and spent all day there. We thought we got away with it, but turns out we didn’t.
14) i think its so funny when i see people on bikes or just walking around and they are singing to themselves
15) sometimes when im driving i have this urge to run into things (i'll never do it!!)
16) I have had about 9 perms in my lifetime
17) i love to cuddle!!!
18) i love to run. i ran a marathon once. 26.4 miles...and plan on doing more. also Pehrson and i want to attempt a triathalon this summer.
19) when i was younger my mom said that she would come into my room and i would just be staring at myself in the mirror...for hours...
20) i once got frost bite on my toes in idaho. well, it was the "first stages" but still my toes looked like frozen chicken and felt like it too.
21) my dad said that if there was a major for socializing i would get a 5.0 because i love meeting new people
22) i spoke at my high school graduation with one of my best friends, tyler gardner
23) i got 100% attendance all 4 years of seminary just like my siblings, im NOT saying this to brag i just can't believe i got up that early every morning.
24) i was a cheerleader for byu-idaho my freshmen year, and thought it was one of the funniest things i've ever done. we cheered, in uniforms, for intermural games and some of the girls were SO hardcore about it.
25) i LOVE being in LOVE!!!! marriage is the best thing ever!!

man...that was really fun! i could probably do another 25, but i don't want to bore you guys. haha hope you enjoy. I'm not gonna tag anyone in particular, but if you want to do it, i think you should!

Lieutenant Hawkley

So, most of you know Pehrson got into dental school at USC (University of Southern California) we are really excited to start dental school and live in california. As you also may know, dental school is VERY VERY expensive. On average dental students come out of school $200,000 to $300,000 in debt. Which is crazy to me, but happens ALL the time. So, luckily my husband is a genius and found out that there are scholarships that you can get through the air force. His dad was in the air force, my grandpa was in the air force, there are a lot of good benefits and great people that come out of there. Good news, they pay for all of dental school give you a little money to live off each month and when you are done with school you have to go work as a dentist on the air force base. So, 4 years of school=4 years in the air force. Then you are free to go open you own practice. Sounds smart to me. NO DEBT!!! that will be awesome!

And today is the day that Pehrson gets commissioned into the air force. We are going down to the Hickham Air Force Base in honolulu and they are doing like a big ceremony for him. He is a little nervous to join the air force, but we both feel like it is going to be a huge blessing for us and our future family. His title today will be Lieutenant Hawkley! =]

So Proud of my MAN!!!
