after our family reunion in the uintahs...we went down to good ol' provo and visited some friends, went to a soccer game, got a tour of the underground tunnels in Salt Lake City, went to an outdoor concert with Jenny Lewis and Bon Iver in SLC (SO GOOD!) and then went to the BYU library and the boys tried on some awesome "BYU clothing" It was fun to be up there and see some of our peeps. But, we were ready to get back to california and to the beach. The best part of our trip was that i got to spend every single second with my soul mate! It was so fun to just hang out with him every day. I meet all the Allen family (i think i passed) but if not, they are stuck with me =].

Pehrson started teaching surf lessons and is doing AWESOME!! He loves it too cause he's not stuck looking at a computer screen all day and gets to do what he loves. He is such a go-getter. The other day he's like, "Kate, i think i'm gonna start teaching surf lessons." The next day he was out there and teaching like crazy. I don't know how he does it. But, i wish i was like that! Sometimes i am, but i have been looking for a job for the last couple months now for when we move to South Pasadena (oh yeah, we are moving there August 10th!) and it is hard for me. I feel like i'm not qualified and its been really frustrating. I have my degree and that's great, but employers are looking for a lot more i feel. BUT, today i just applied for 20 different jobs (i've been on this computer for hours!) but i'm actually for the first time REALLY excited about some of the jobs i've applied for. I just need ONE...hopefully out of those 20 one will be a winner. Pray for me =]
We have also started furniture shopping!! FUN! but a little overwhelming...so many things to choose from. How do people make these decisions? Luckily Pehrson and i have pretty much the same taste so it makes things a little easier, but of course all the couches i like are the most expensive...isn't that how it always works?? But, i think we have narrowed it down...i'll keep you updated with pictures..etc.
But, life is great...i can't complain! I hope everyone is doing well!

June Gloom is OVER!

Its Pehrson… and IM BACK!  I’ve been back for 3 weeks now and it has been awesome!  Officer training school didn’t turn out to be all that bad.  I did have to march everywhere I went, I did learn how to salute, and I even got yelled at once for scratching my face.  What an experience! ha But, in the end, it turned out to be a really cool leadership-training course, like something that a company would pay to send their managers too.  I learned a lot about myself and was happy to have the chance to do something like that.

As good as it was though, it has been amazing to be back with Kate.  I had to fly to Oklahoma and get our car and then drive to CA.  I left at 4:30am and drove straight for 19.5 hours to get home to Kate at exactly 10:00pm.  It was so ridiculously good to see her.  One of my buddies in Alabama told me “a characteristic of true love is being able to fall even more in love with someone while you are not with them.”  While I was gone, I definitely fell more in love with Kate and realized how much I really do appreciate and care about her.

Kate had a radical day planned out for us the next day; complete with Jet Skiing out of Dana Point Harbor, surfing at Doheny together, and a fresh homemade chicken parmesan meal.  Life is so much better when you get to live it with someone else.

We were home together for 5 days and then we left for Utah to go to my family reunion.  We had a 5-bedroom cabin for 30 people.  Yikes!  A lot of them were kids under the age of ~10 and there was a big loft that most of them slept in.  It was super fun to see everyone again.  It was my mom’s side of the family, and everyone grew up in Ventura, CA, but has since moved and now people live in Utah, Arizona, Colorado, Georgia, and Oklahoma.  So it is pretty hard to get everyone together these days.  We did a little swimming in the pool, hiked around a lake, played some games, ate food, had a bonfire, and went 4-wheeling.

As far as the family goes, Kate was a little nervous, but everyone loved her.  She fit right in with everyone and it turned out to be a great reunion.

Just a side note.  I don’t know if anyone has ever been with Kate on anything that has a motor besides a car (in a car she drives 10 under the limit).  But if you don’t know, SHE GETS CRAZY!  She’s not one of those girly-girls that holds back.  She flew all over the place on the ATV’s in Utah and on the Jet Ski it was full gas.  I was worried that I was making her nervous with my driving, but she actually made me nervous and almost threw me off a couple times!! ha I don’t know many girls that are that daring, but I was very pleased to have her as my wife!

june gloom...

well, i knew since october that i would dread the month of june! the weather at the beginning has been pretty gloomy and the love of my life is 2,000 miles away. BUT, the end is near...only one more week and i feel like i am even more excited than my wedding day. (if that's even possible) I have been staying super busy, which is making things better. But, whenever i have some free time and time to think that's when i really really miss him and may even shed some tears. We are both ready to get this week over with.

Yesterday was our 6 month anniversary! I can't believe we are have way to a year...time really does fly
Luckily we get to talk to each other on the phone...i don't know what i would be like if we couldn't talk.

Funny stories:
1) the other day i went to my friend Heather Willardson's bridal shower in Huntington Beach 0 and got to see some of my favorite people, which is always a treat. After the shower was over all my girls wanted to go to this dance party. Me, feeling a little awkward going to a dance without my eternal dance partner. told these girls to stick to me like glue. I figured we could just go a dance for a little bit and then leave. We walk in and you could just feel the singleness of these people, everyone checking out everyone, pick up lines being thrown left and right, all the girls dancing for attention, the guys standing against the wall giving those girls attention. I can't believe i used to be one of the girls. HA it made me SOOOO thankful to not have to deal with that scene anymore. Some people were there that i knew and kept saying, "what are you doing here?" "you're married!" yes, yes i am thanks for telling me. We got a couple good dance moves in, but i didn't recognize half the songs they were playing. Maybe i need to listen to the radio more. but we were there for about 15 minutes and that was 15 minutes too long. Thanks jessi, heather and melissa for helping me out that night!

2) last week i was driving in my car, windows down, radio on because i forgot my ipod. And that song by the black eyed peas, "boom, boom, boom..." i don't really know the words, but i know the chorus and i pulled up to a stop sign and the girl next to me had the same song playing, we both looked over at each other and started dancing and singing OUT LOUD! haha it was so awesome, i have no idea who this girl was. i'll just call her my dance car girl. it made my day!

And lastly its Fathers Day...

we don't have any news...i promise! thanks Luke and Raegan for being the baby models. i just wanted to wish all the dads in the world a happy father's day. To Pehrson...someday in the future. And especially to my dad
I love you "G" thanks for all that you do for our family! And i know that today is Father's Day, but i realized that i never wrote anything about my amazing mom on mother's day. So mom thanks for being the best listener a girl could ask for. I love you too!

that about wraps it up. I miss you annie, i feel like i haven't seen you forever! can't wait till august comes and we can play. Hope everyone is happy and loving life, cause there are a lot of things to be happy about!

Pehrson in his gear, read his message below! so cute...i love him SO much.

So far from home

Well, I finally got a break to say hi to everyone. Things in Alabama are going good. The Air Force is trying to break me down, but I won't let them! They try and keep us as busy as they possibly can. It has its days, but there are definitly some fun times and a lot to learn that pertains to a lot outside of the Air Force. It is acctually really similar to the church or serving a mission. We always have to be with a "wingman"(companion), we have an "Air Force Honor Code", our hair has to be short..., they use a ton of acronyms (ex. LDS, MTC, and AFB, OTS(Officer Training School), etc... Its been pretty mindblowing seeing all of the relationships. So far we have been having a lot of leadership classes and they are constantly evaluating us. As annoying as it can be, I'm acctaully learning a lot and there are a good group of guys here to keep me company.

Also, thanks to everyone for keeping Kate company while Im gone. This is the first time that we have been apart from eachother since we got married, and its preeeeetty lame. I love her so much and I love knowing that she is being taken care of and having fun with friends and family.

Have a good day everyone, only 2 more weeks till I get back!

thi_102.jpg

So i have been doing bikram yoga for the last week and loving it! For those that may not know, it is where you do yoga in a 105 degree room. You are literally sweating from every single pore! its awesome. But not so awesome when you leave cause it looks like you have jumped in a pool of sweat. its gross and since pehrson is still gone =[ he doesn't have to see my nastiness even though i know he would love me just the same. I found this on a website and i just want Pehrson to know that even though i might smell and be all slimy i would still LOVE LOVE LOVE to give you a big hug and kiss. i miss you and can't wait for this month to end! =]

disney_up.jpg

I feel like disney hasn't made a lot of movies lately, that i've seen. But this one was worth the wait. i saw it last night and it was so good. I highly recommend it and will probably see it again. I'm so behind on movies these days and usually don't know what or who people are talking about when it comes to media. But, this is on of the best movies i've seen in a long time. It brought me to tears.
