Just a warning this post is more of journal entry. Just to remember what has happened at the end of november and all of december. It is going to be a long one cause so many things have happened. So here we go.
We drove out to utah for Tyson's wedding and made a pit stop in St. George where my parents were staying for the week of thanksgiving. It was short and sweet but we went on a beautiful hike and then finished the rest of our drive to eagle mountain.

We went to the wedding and had thanksgiving for the next week. (already blogged about that) We then came home and Beck was sleeping so well, like 12 hours a night, for two nights and then our power went out. It was an incredibly cold week for california and we were without power for 6 days. Being a manager my tenants were a little stressed out to say the least. Huge trees all over had fallen down on our power lines and for some reason we were one of the last areas in south pasadena to get it back on. Beck had a little cough and it was getting worse so we slept with him for a couple nights in our bed with tons of blankets and beanies on. I took a shower at a friends house and we stayed the night with them so grateful! But then we decided to head down to my parents and just get away from all the cold. Here is an example of a tree that had fallen. (that is a grown kid on top of it) it was nuts!

but it was nice to go down south we stopped by the beach and watched the sunset. There is just something magical about the ocean. I feel alive and happy and all is well. I forgot about the last couple of days completely and just enjoyed the moment.
Until the next day when Beck got a fever of 103. His little body was on fire! And he just wanted to lie on me all day long. I kind of loved it. But i knew he was in pain so i wanted to help him. I called the doctors and they told me what to do and just keep watching it. So the next morning it was back down to 99 and then later that day jumped up to 102 again. This poor little guy =[ it was so sad, just look at his face...

We went to the doctors and realized it wasn't just a fever...this poor kid had a laundry list of things.
- He had an ear infection that has lasted a month and the antibiotics that we were given never really cleared it up. So we had to get something stronger.
- And the first antibiotic that he took for his ear gave him a yeast infection. Which he had all over his diaper area and some blisters on the back of his throat (causing a lack of appitite) so he was losing weight.
- His molars were coming in.
- He had a little rash on his body called Rosela(?) i think. just little red spots all over that is usually the aftermath of high temp. but just goes away
- And to top it off. He had pneumonia! They had to take x-rays of his little lungs and one of them was all cloudy. So we had to give him an inhaler three times a day. And hold it on his mouth for 6 breaths. It was awful.
Four days later we packed our bags (again) and headed out to Oklahoma. The medicines were working great. So grateful for modern day medicine. I feel like we packed our lives for 3 weeks. I kept shoving more and more into our suitcases. Each of our bags were 50-53 lbs. Plus all of our carry-ons. Anyways we brought a lot, too much. We got to Oklahoma and the first night we were there Beck threw up. We cleaned him up and he went back to sleep, he seemed fine and was super happy the next morning. We went on with our day just normally until that night I got incredibly sick. I think it was a 24 hr flu or maybe food poising? Not sure. But I spent the entire night in the bathroom. It was awful. I hadn't been that sick for years. Pehrson's mom is an amazing baker and she had all these wonderful treats and I had to resort to saltine crackers and top ramon for the first two days. But luckily it went away monday night and tuesday morning we left for New York. Pehrson's dad got sick and then his sister Rachel got sick. I felt bad cause I was probably the one who brought it into the house. But it didn't last too long! Which was nice. New York was wonderful. We had so much fun and missed our little Beckster like crazy but we were getting daily updates and pictures and we knew he was in good hands. He missed us and we missed him so we were ready to get back and squeeze him. We spent the next 11 days in Oklahoma. We had so much fun. We celebrated Beck's 1st birthday and I made him this cake. Very boy!

We went bowling and to the park. We played tennis and wallyball and raquetball. It was cold outside, but we had a few really nice days.
Christmas morning was so fun. And Beck got really good at opening gifts (he got a little spoiled! thanks!) I love this picture of daddy and B reading. He is just soaking everything up like a sponge right now and we are loving it.

We told Pehrson's family we were pregnant on Christmas day and it was awesome. We got a really big box and put pink, blue and white balloons inside. We wrote on there TO: Rachel From: Beck. We told them to open it last. Pehrson is usually known in his family to give the joke gift so I could tell they weren't expecting anything like what it was. She opened it and the balloons popped out and on the strings hung some ultrasound pictures and that picture of B holding the pregnancy test. She had no idea what was going on. She just thought it was a picture of B's ultrasound. It was awesome. We told them to look at what Beck is holding and the date of the ultrasound picture. HA they finally got it and were so excited! It was totally unexpected and it will be grandbaby #2 for the Hawkley's. I am so mad that I didn't take any pictures. I was too anxious I guess. But there is a lot of love in that family and I am so lucky to be a part of it.
We came back on the 27th and meet up with my family that afternoon at the beach for our family pictures. I had talked to the photographer earlier and told her my plan. Towards the end of the shoot. She lined us all up and said, "okay everyone repeat after me. You have to say exactly what I say" she then said, "Beck's gonna be a big brother!" Everyone started repeating it and then slowly realized WHAT?!?!! Then everyone started screaming and hugging and laughing and I'm sure there are some great shoots. I haven't seen them yet, but i will post later once I see it. But she couldn't have done it better. She said it so clearly. It was perfect. We are so excited to have our little family of 3 become 4.
And here is a sample of one of our pictures. It is so fun that all of my siblings have found their match. Families are forever and I am so grateful for both of mine!
We had our Christmas dinner and opened gifts that night. My mom gave us the best gift this year, it is truly priceless. She put together a book of each one of our weddings, all 4 of us in the same book so we can have it forever. And my favorite part was that she added a page of her and my dads wedding. It brought a tear to my eye and made me realize how awesome love is. Thanks mom for such a thoughful gift I can't wait to show my kids someday. The next day we went to Six Flags. And since im pregnant I couldn't ride any of the rides, which was kind of a bummer. BUT I spent some quality time with the Beckster and rode all the kiddie rides with him. He had absolutely no expression on any of the rides. Just kind of sat there. But then when we got off he would point to it over and over again. It was awesome.
Grandma got these cute boys matching jackets. But we couldn't get a picture of them all looking so here is one from the backside.
And the next 4 days were spent at the beach. It has been in the 80's here and we just can't get enough of it.
One of the benefits of living in Pasadena is that we can walk to the Rose Parade and that is what we did. The night before the parade they put most of the floats out on the street and anyone can walk around and look at them. They are beautiful and the atmosphere is so fun. Everyone is excited and there are hundreds of people on the street. It was exciting.
And the next day we had a friend call us and said they had an extra seat right up close. We really lucked out. There were so many people there and we were able to squeeze into probably the last spot possible. It was so fun. Beck loved dancing to the bands and looking at the floats. We just loved watching him. =]

It was a gorgeous, hot day! And so we spent it outside. We went on this beautiful hike in the Pacific Palisades. I will definitely have to do that one again. The view was great.
here is the belly @ 16 weeks.
We love having Pehrson for 3 weeks with no school. Now we are back into the swing of things and having to be responsible. I love the holidays but this weather is getting me excited for summer and a new baby. Happy new year everyone hope it is a good one!
